1962 Lincoln Continental MOST DESIRED "Triple Black" suicide convertible

1962 Lincoln Continental

I never thought I would sell this car, looked at so many Lincoln to find the nicest out there and this is what I picked. It has the most sought after dash and the wood grain inlays on the dash and door panels. It has a flawless black paint and not signs of rust or rust repairs anywhere on the car. The doors and the door bottoms are perfect and the area behind rear wheel is perfect and no signs of rust or repairs, same goes for the floor and trunk floor. I has a new black interior and new black carpet. It's a true California car. It needs the new hydraulic hoses and a new canvas top. I have put it of for now and just enjoyed the car with the top down since I did not find any needs for a top here in CA. Hence the price is less what a fully restored car would run you and you have some room to buy the car and fix it at a later time or just drive it as is as I have done.....
Starts right up and shifts smooth and nice. The engine has probably been rebuilt some time ago cause it runs strong and tight better than any other Lincoln I test drove before I decided to buy this one.

Located in San Jose CA 95124. Come take a look if your close by or please feel free to email or text me if you would like additional info. Or if you like to see a video of the car etc.

I can assist the new buyer with quoting and coordinating transportation after the auction. I have been using 1Flat-Rate Transportation company many times on eBay and they do a good job. Thank you for your interest! And happy Bidding

Fun Facts :
Lincoln's beautiful 1961 styling was a revelation to the industry, and by 1962 the first results of shocked stylists at other companies were being seen. In a dramatic move, Imperial chopped off its tail fins completely, perching its trade mark slim, circular tail light assemblies atop the rear fenders. The result was an Imperial that looked longer and much sleeker than before. Cadillac was stuck with its 1961 styling, but "squared up" its '62 design by eliminating the oval rear bumper ends and replacing them with rectangular ones. The round front parking and turn signal lights also got the rectangular treatment. The most substantial evidence that Cadillac was paying attention—and responding to Lincoln's design—was with the 1963 models, which were very different from what had come before from Cadillac. Cadillac worked in two year styling cycles, and Lincoln's influence on American luxury car design would remain for much of the sixties.
The 1964 Imperial would be completely new, and would flatter the Lincoln design considerably with very sleek, clean lines that the Imperial wore very well. The relationship between the Lincoln and Imperial designs at this point was quite clear: the man largely responsible for the beautiful Lincoln design in 1961 had left Ford and was now working for Chrysler. The '64 Imperial was his first opportunity to make his mark on that legendary automobile. The man's name? Elwood Engel.
Lincoln's sales improved modestly in 1962, with a production increase of 5,897 cars. This still fell far short of what Cadillac was selling, but Cadillac at this point had a history of styling marks that identified the cars as Cadillacs, and Lincoln was at this point in its fifth completely new design in a ten year period, none of which really defined what the Lincoln look was until the 1961 models. It would take some time for the public to see that this was indeed a design that Lincoln would stay faithful to. Also, quality control issues had plagued the previous 1958-1960 models, and that gave the Lincoln brand a somewhat tarnished reputation, although the 1961 models did much to repair that. Actually, the 1960 models had addressed most of the initial problems, but the styling wasn't loved by many, so some potential 1960 Lincoln customers didn't even consider them.

1962 Lincoln Continental

Not too much had changed with the '62 Continental except for the removal of the front bumper guards and a few pounds and inches here and there in addition to being slightly lower than the previous year. The Lincoln Continental was the only 4-door convertible offered on the American market. Available again in 1962 was the suicide doors that opened to the center and hinged to the body instead of the center pillar. Plus a light on the instrument panel blinks a warning if the rear doors are not fully closed when the ignition is on. The entire body of the 4-door sedan is welded into a single unit and protected by four coats of baked enamel. Inside, a combination of leather and vinyl fabric along with walnut paneling contribute to the classic elegance of the Lincoln Continental. Standard features on the Continental included a 430 cid V8 engine, automatic transmission, power windows, power brakes, and power steering.

BARNFIND 1932 Ford all original Steel, 5-Window Coupe

BARN FIND
1932 Ford all original Steel, 5-Window Coupe / Original Vintage Hot Rod / Show Car

Featured in the September 1959 issue of "CUSTOM CARS", little pages magazine in the "Showtime USA" article.
A show piece of Hot Rod History, cleaned up with a fresh flathead and brakes, car runs and drives but has not been restored.

Early 1950's build out of Decatur, Illinois. Body channeled over original frame with a '48 Mercury Flathead Engine and Judson Supercharger. Original pink and white tuck and roll interior and a lot of chrome. Shown in car shows throughout the Midwest until parked in 1960 with intentions of converting it into a race car. The supercharged engine was replaced with a '51 Mercury powerplant and that is where the project stopped.
The car was located years later sitting in the original barn. Time and conditions took its toll on the lacquer paint and overall condition but still a very presentable piece of historic hot rodding. Body is straight and solid.

Sold with old Illinois Title...

The original '48 Mercury Flathead with vintage original Fenton Heads Chrome Oil Pans and Filter, Chrome 97 Carb and Judson Supercharger is available. Internal condition of the engine is unknown.

This crusty old hot rod draws a crowd at shows whenever it goes out!

1955 Buick Super Riviera Hardtop for sale

We are offering our 1955 Buick Super Riviera Hardtop for sale. This is not a concourse restoration, but a super clean mild custom driver. We understand that we're the 3rd owner of this Buick, which was originally manufactured in southern California and sold in San Diego in 1955- so it's never left the region as far as we know. I am only selling the car to fund my next project. I would prefer for the buyer to come inspect the car before negotiating a deal. Title is clear and in-hand.

The car is 100% rust free. The body and paint was done about 6 years ago by a very reputable custom shop in Riverside, Ca. and presents very well- it is laser straight. The car is driven, so the paint is no longer perfect, but probably an 8.9/10. Mild body mods include shaved door handles, mirrors smoothed, smoothed gas-fill door (gas fill in trunk), emblems removed, hood smoothed and headlights frenched. The upholstery was completely done immediately after paint including carpet, headliner, seats, visors, door panels etc. and is in excellent condition with only a few minor blems.
All the glass, rubber, channels, felts etc. was replaced brand new when painted. Every piece of rubber and glass is new. The back glass suffered a hairline crack a couple of years ago and I have not replaced it yet- this is factored into the asking price. All the door glass and vent glass frames were re-chromed at time of body and paint, so they all look better than new. All door glass and quarter glass cranks are new.

Tires are brand new coker radials with alignment pending as of 1/29/19.

All the chrome bumpers, grill, taillights, and stainless brightwork were professionally straightened and re-plated or polished so present better than new. Since then, a portion of the chrome on the rear bumper has flaked off and I have not re-plated it yet- this is also factored into the asking price.
The car is powered by the original 322 Nailhead, which was completely rebuilt at time of build. The motor got machining, new pistons, rings, bearings etc. A lopey cam by TA Performance, modern carburation, modern ignition by Pertronix, new fuel pump, high-output fan, complete valve job with later model rockers and modern valve seals on exhaust and intake valves. The motor sports original true-dual exhaust manifolds, which we optional in 1956. Small flowmasters and dual 2.25" exhaust. The generator was replaced with high-output alternator. We put a custom aluminum radiator in the car- It will sit in traffic for 12 hours and never get hotter than 180 degrees. The fuel tank was removed, treated and sealed. Behind the Nailhead is a 700R4 transmission, which was completely rebuilt with all the good soft and hardparts at time of build. The modern transmission is mated to the Nailhead with an adaptor by Bendtsons. There is probably about 3,500 miles on the motor and transmission. There is a Camaro rear-end in the car, with a triangulated 4-link rear suspension with air bags. The front sports original control arms with lowered spindles by Fatman and air bags. The car lays frame when aired down, but rides great at ride-height. Dual compressors and a 12 gal line in the trunk, which has not been upholstered yet. The air tank should probably be replaced with an 8 gal tank IMO. The car has back and yellow plates. The stock brake master cylinder was rebuilt by Karps in Ontario and the car stops well.

I have a new aftermarket below-dash air conditioning unit and new condenser for the car as well. Just add a compressor and hoses and you can have air conditioning if interested. I also have a set of super rare Foxcraft fender skirts for the car- they were body worked and painted with the car, just never installed- they have new seals on them.

I am sure I am forgetting many things that are done, but there is also a list of things are not done yet or need to be addressed- which are all factored into the asking price. The underseat heater is not hooked up, nor have I attempted to get all the dash features going like defroster, fans, clock, blinkers, etc. The windshield wipers were removed but the motor is still on the fire wall. The dome light is new, but not installed yet. I put new emergency brake cables by Lokar at the rear drums, but have not connected the parking brake cable at pedal yet. Trunk needs carpet. Rear bumper should be re-plated. Rear glass should be replaced. Power seat not hooked up. Mooneyes tachometer not wired yet, but is mounted on steering column. The other Mooneyes gauges for oil pressure, temperature and voltage are functional and lighted. One may also consider the installation of door and trunk poppers, which are included in sale- but not installed. The speedo cable is new but is making a clicking noise- so needs to be explored and remedied.
Car needs some tinkering and some TLC , but asking price is fair at $31,000, as-is, where-is- no warranties expressed or implied.

Patina Pickup: 1939 Chevrolet Pickup

Patina Pickup: 1939 Chevrolet Pickup

It doesn’t seem like that many years ago when I would’ve looked at this 1939 Chevrolet Pickup and wanted to apply a fresh coat of paint to its corroded panels. Those were the days when I missed the point with these vehicles, but I have now seen the error of my ways. This classic is a custom build that features bags of character. With an upgraded drivetrain and a solid body, it is ready to be enjoyed by a lucky new owner. If you can picture yourself behind the wheel, you will find the Pickup located in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, and listed for sale here on eBay. Intense bidding has pushed the price to $20,000, and there’s time left on the listing if you want to stake your claim on this cool custom.

Examining the supplied photos carefully, you can spot the occasional hint that the Pickup originally wore Swift Red paint. Those days are long behind it, with the exterior now wearing a consistent coating of surface corrosion. The seller doesn’t indicate whether this has been treated to prevent further deterioration, so this might be something for potential buyers to consider if they want to retain the existing appearance. The listing indicates that there is little rust for buyers to consider, with any significant floor problems now consigned to the pages of history. The panels have accumulated a few of the dings and dents that you might expect in an older Pickup, but these do nothing but add to its character. The glass is all in good condition, with those pieces in the doors being new. The owner has slammed the vehicle, and when combined with the new 15″ steel wheels, it adds a sense of purpose to this classic. The bed has new timbers that provide a nice contrast to the rest of the exterior, and while the trim shows its age, it is all present and in keeping with the Pickup’s overall character.

The engine bay of this classic would originally have housed a 216.5ci six that produced 85hp. Those ponies would have found their way to the rear wheels via a 3-speed manual transmission. However, the owner has modernized everything significantly, making the Pickup a viable proposition as a daily driver. Under the hood, we find a 305ci V8 that is hooked to a Turbo 350 automatic transmission. The motor features aftermarket headers, and an aluminum radiator with an electric fan should help to keep things cool. It isn’t clear whether the engine has received any internal upgrades, but you can be sure that the driver will have a lot more than 85hp at their disposal. The owner has approached this build as a complete package so that it possesses handling and braking abilities to cope with all of those additional horses. The front frame rails have been boxed, and the Pickup features independent front suspension with tubular control arms and enormous 13″ cross-drilled disc brakes. The rear has also been boxed and is equipped with a four-link setup and adjustable springs and shock. There is also a new master cylinder, fuel lines, brake lines, and frame-mounted fuel tank. The electrical system hasn’t escaped his attention. As well as a fresh wiring harness, all lights and lamp sockets have been replaced. Overall, that should leave the buyer with nothing to do but hit the road for a spot of classic motoring pleasure.

The owner seamlessly combined the old with the new when he created this classic’s interior. Once again, the painted surfaces wear a coating of surface corrosion that indicates the vehicle’s age. He installed new sound deadening on the floors and the inside of the roof before fitting fresh carpet and a new headliner. The perfect finishing touch is the fresh leather seat upholstery that has a wonderful aged appearance. The new wiring harness means that all of the gauges and lights work as they should, while the 23″ American Shifter should make selecting the correct gear in the Turbo 350 transmission a breeze. It looks wonderful, but there are a few tasks for the buyer to consider. The truck doesn’t feature functioning windshield wipers, so that will need to be addressed. Less urgent (potentially) is the lack of a heater. Depending on where the buyer is located, this may not be a consideration. However, I suspect that the new owner will probably address this as a matter of course.

I’m not ashamed to admit that there was a time when classic pickups held little appeal to me. I viewed them as nothing but workhorses or beasts of burden. I also believed that any project builds of this type required a stunning and shining paint job to be considered complete. However, my view has been changed as I’ve delved deeper into these types of builds, and I have reached the point where I find them quite attractive. The owner of this Chevy could easily have slotted in a new engine and transmission and then called it a day. Instead, he has created a vehicle that should be easy and comfortable to drive and would be capable of handling and braking abilities that were unimaginable to its original creator. I can’t see one reason why it couldn’t serve as a daily driver, and it seems that I might not be alone in that view. There have already been an incredible sixty bids submitted at the time of writing, which graphically demonstrates that people like what they see. Are you tempted to join this bidding war, or are you going to sit back as an interested observer?
