Salt Flats style 1934 Ford Couple

This stunning traditional Salt Flats style 1934 Ford Couple was completed in 2003 and was the recipient of various awards including the 2003 NSRA Nationals, 2003-04, 2006-11 and 2013 Good Guys Pick and was Street Rodder Magazine's Top Ten Street Rod.
Propulsion is by a GM 350cid V8 with RDH NASCAR aluminum heads, Isky 0.480 lift, 280-degree cam, 10:1 compression pistons, Corvette valve covers and dual Edelbrock 4bbl carburetors. This potent engine exhales through Sanderson block hugger headers with custom exhaust and Hush Puppies muffler while drive to the rear wheels is via a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission to a 9 Ford rear end with a 4.10 gear.

The 3' chopped Gibbon fiberglass body with 3 channeled over frame features a filled cowl vent, stock firewall and is painted in PPG base 1934 Ford Blue with reverse scallops and a clear coat. Up front the original '34 Ford hood and grill are flanked by Guide headlights while 1950 Pontiac tail lights light up the rear. A pair of rear hinged suicide doors handles entry and exit.

This '34 Ford is built on a Pete & Jakes frame and suspension featuring a Super Bell 4 drop axle, Mullins steering box riding on Bilstein shocks. Original Halibrand wheels with knock offs are shod with 6.00x16 front and 7.50x16 rear Coker tires. Wilwood front disc brakes and 11 Ford rear drum brakes with Rivera covers handle stopping duties.

The tan Glenn Kramer custom interior features 2' tuck & rolled pleats and German square weave carpet. Vintage Air A/C keeps things cool while Classic Instruments gauges and a Sun Moon Eyes column mounted tach keep you informed on what's going on. Finishing off the look of the interior is a custom steering wheel.
